3Q21

CAIXA has been presenting historic results. What are the next steps and how does CAIXA hope to end 2021?

In 9M21, CAIXA had the second highest annual profit, a growth of over 80% against 9M20. The focus on the micro entrepreneur, real estate and microcredit, alongside a meritocratic management, improved the governance rating of all regulating and external audit organs. We hope to continue having strong results in 4T21, looking for profitable rates while helping the population in need.

What can we expect of ESG initiatives in 2022?

We are looking to reinforce the environmental question. We have seven approved projects for reforestation and our goal is to plant 10 million trees. We will reach between 10 and 11 states with our projects. We will also provide financing to aquiculture and pisciculture, strengthening our environmental positions. We want to maintain our current governance levels, keeping the highest scores, because governance and integrity are fundamentals for Caixa.

CAIXA shows a strong leadership in housing and has shown an incline to agro. What are the next steps for agriculture?

We will open new agencies with focus on long term credit, especially Pronafiano and Pronampiano (micro and small producer), for irrigation, soil correction, storage construction, etc. This will allow the agriculturist to change levels in three or four years. We will also finance solar panels, which reduce costs and help the environment. We will work alongside cooperatives and small producers.

How does CAIXA hope to conduct the inclusion of people in vulnerable situations?

The microcredit offered by CAIXA and the payment of government stimulus, such as Auxílio Brasil, allow for inclusion. Over 100 million people have the Caixa Tem app, which allows access to credit. The Casa Verde e Amarela program also supports people in total vulnerability, who receive housing for low prices.

2Q21

When will CAIXA open its new agencies?

The agencies are already being opened, but they take six to nine months, as it’s also necessary to mobilize local city halls. We will open 100 agro agencies and, by March of 2022, we will have between 30 to 40 new agencies outside agro.

What justifies the worsening of defaults on 2Q21, especially in the housing sector? How will this indicator look in the future?

A real estate wholesale operation, done in that period, generated a problem, but even with this result there was no significant worsening. Certainly, 2Q21 has many issues. It was the peak of COVID, we had a clear decrease in results, but nothing that’s outside standards. We are negotiating strongly and will probably reverse these results in the next quarter.

How is the return plan for the IHCD resource? Are any returns planned for this year?

We have a plan that has been sent to the TCU and Tesouro Nacional. We want to return R$7 billion in 2021, but we are waiting on the approval of the Tesouro. There is a line that costs us 20% to 25% a year, which is 4 to 5 times of what we get in public titles. Therefore, the best mathematical option is to sell.

What does the IPO calendar for Caixa Cartões and Caixa Tem look like?

Our current focus is on Elo, a part of Caixa Cartões, and on Asset. The operation for Cartões will only happen after Elo conducts its IPO. Asset is more mature between the holdings, with strong growth and incoming funds from city halls. We are launching new funds, of stock options and credit. We have left problematic investments and are focused on improving results for Elo and Caixa Asset.
